Abbey Road LIVE!

Abbey Road LIVE! plays the music of my first (and still) favorite band, The Beatles. Back in 1997 my old band Fuzzy Sprouts decided to cover the entire “Abbey Road” album for a show. It was some of the most fun we (and our audience) ever had, so we decided to stick with it and learn more Beatles material. In our 500+ shows since, we’ve performed complete albums such as Magical Mystery Tour, Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper, sometimes with live strings & horns accompaniment. It feels like an honor to get to perform some of the greatest music ever written. And it’s hard to beat the feeling of looking out at an audience swaying on their feet, arms around each other, gleefully chanting “All you need is love!

Cosmic Charlie

In 1981 I learned to play guitar. That same year, I saw Jerry Garcia perform for the first time. Those two experiences became inextricably intertwined. The improvisatory approach of the Grateful Dead became one of the primary guideposts for my musical calling. Every band I’ve played in since – punk, funk, hard rock, swing – has incorporated some of that “make it up in the moment” Dead philosophy. Meanwhile, I have gotten to play the music of the Dead with Cosmic Charlie for 20+ years. We have performed all over the USA, and been joined on stage by members of the Grateful Dead. It’s a privilege to get to carry this musical phenomenon forward to the next generation.

Whisper Kiss

I’ve always had a thing for introspective, acoustic songwriting… and female vocals… and the cello. So when I decided in 2008 to summon up the courage to perform my own songs, it’s no surprise that it would sound like Whisper Kiss. For years prior, my musical world consisted mainly of backing up other songwriters and projects. It was a role I was comfortable and content with. But somewhere along the way, I started writing my own lyrics and music (even though I sorely lacked the confidence to share them publicly). Luckily I was able to find Shelley Lotus (vocals) and Karen Bergmann (cello), who have expanded my musical horizons and truly given me a voice. Whisper Kiss has released two albums and has a 3rd on the way soon.
